Ask for testimonials without begging, bragging, or dying inside.

The Easy Yes! Testimonial Toolbox

One-time payment: not a typo, not a trap!

You want proof that you are good at what you do. The kind of proof that does the convincing for you, so you are not in every sales conversation vouching for yourself like a defense attorney with one client.

And you know testimonials are exactly how you get it.

The problem is:

  • Asking out loud makes your whole body go “absolutely not,” so you don’t ask at all.
  • When you do ask, you apologize so much that you basically talk them out of it.
  • You have no idea when to ask, so you wait for a perfect moment that never announces itself.
  • The testimonials you already have are scattered across four platforms, two inboxes, and a phone you don’t use anymore.
  • And the ones you can find, you’re not sure you’re allowed to use, because you never asked that part either.

If you’re over there nodding and wincing? Cool, I built this for you.

Introducing

The Easy Yes! Testimonial Toolbox

A short workshop plus a set of copy-paste scripts and a living tracker, built to help you collect testimonials you’re proud of and actually put them to work, without ever once feeling like you’re passing a hat.

Here’s what makes it different. Most advice on this topic stops at “you should get testimonials,” which is not advice, that’s a reminder. This gives you the words. The exact sentences, for the exact situation you’re in, including the deeply specific horror of the client who said yes and then went completely silent.

An actual line from inside

“I’m so thrilled to hear that. Would you mind if I wrote it down and put it on my website?”

No audience required. No case studies required. You don’t even need current clients, and I’ll show you what to do instead if you don’t have any yet!

The testimonial tracker: counts of how many testimonials are logged, emotional, metrics-driven and contactable, a search box, a CSV download, and a saved entry tagged Emotional, Long-term and Contactable.
Not a worksheet. An actual tracker, with search, tags, and CSV export.

What changes

With the Testimonial Toolbox you will be able to:

  • Ask for a testimonial in one short message, without the apology paragraph in front of it
  • Turn a compliment somebody already gave you into usable social proof, on the spot, in the moment it happens
  • Know exactly when to ask, so you stop waiting for a perfect moment that was never coming
  • Find the right testimonial in seconds when you’re building a sales page, instead of digging through 2023
  • Ask in a way that protects your client’s boundaries, so nobody feels put on the spot
  • Read your own testimonials back on the days you’re convinced you’re a fraud, which is a use nobody tells you about!

Oh, and the price point? Nine dollars.

What they’re saying

This toolbox is brand new, so these aren’t from people who bought it. They’re from people who took my 18 Words workshop (where I hand you an exact script for the most awkward moment in a sales call, which, yes, I am aware is a pattern with me). Same idea as this, pointed at a different conversation.

OMG! This is brilliant! I can see how this makes those conversations so much less awkward. Thank you!

Great, thank you. Something super simple I can add into my business, and not generating more work.

Both of these people chose to stay unnamed, which is a real option and one I’ll teach you to offer. Turns out “would you like to be credited by name, initials, or not at all?” is the question that gets you a yes instead of a maybe.

The prompt that unsticks people

“If it helps, you can just answer: what was life like before working with me, what changed, and what’s life like now?”

What’s included

Everything you get, and for just $9:

The workshop audio, streaming right inside your toolbox
The whole method start to finish. Nothing to download, nothing to keep track of. Press play in your browser, on your phone in the car, wherever you actually listen to things.
The Ask Scripts
Word-for-word asks for past clients over email or DM, current clients on a live call, the casual social media ask, and the one for when they said yes and then went quiet. Copy them, change the name, send them!
The 3-Step Ask Formula
The plug-and-play frame underneath every script, so once you’ve got it you can write your own for any situation.
The Testimonial of My Brilliance tracker
A living home for every kind word you collect, with the fields that make them findable later: keywords, which client type it speaks to, where you plan to use it, whether they’re open to being a reference, and how they want to be named.
Permission and boundary reminders
Capture exactly how someone wants to be credited, so you never have to guess and they never feel exposed.

Frequently asked questions

How long will this take?

The workshop is one sitting. I kept it short on purpose so you can get straight to asking.

Sending your first ask takes about four minutes, because the script is already written. You’re changing a name and a detail.

Then it stops being a project and becomes a habit. The asking happens in the moment a client says something nice, which is unpredictable, so what you’re really building is the reflex to catch it. The tracker takes about thirty seconds per testimonial after that, and it’s the part that pays you back a year later when you’re building a sales page at 11pm and need the perfect quote.

What if I don’t have any clients yet?

Then start here, because this is exactly when to build the habit. You’ll learn what to collect instead: statements of support from people you’ve genuinely helped, even unpaid. Those are real, they’re usable, and they hold the door until paying clients arrive.

What if my clients are shy, or their work is confidential?

Covered, and this is a bigger deal than most people admit. You’ll get the language for asking how someone wants to be credited, whether that’s a full name, a first name and last initial, initials, or a title only.

A testimonial credited “VP of Operations, healthcare SaaS” is still proof. Nobody has to be exposed to vouch for you.

What if asking makes me want to crawl into the sea?

Honestly? Same. That’s the whole reason this exists. I was the kid frozen on a stranger’s hot driveway with a box of candy bars, reciting my line to the sky, certain everybody would know if I failed. Right? I did not grow out of that by becoming bolder. I grew out of it by having better words ready, so the asking stopped being an act of courage and became a sentence I already knew.

If you’re hoping this makes you enjoy asking, I can’t promise that. What it does is make the ask short enough and specific enough that dread doesn’t have room to get in.

What will I need?

Nothing you don’t have! No audience, no website yet, no software, no design skills. An email account and clients or people you’ve helped. That’s it.

What if I don’t learn anything new?

Because you get everything the second you buy, all sales are final. I’d rather tell you that right here than bury it in a footer somewhere.

So let me help you decide before you spend the nine dollars. If you already ask for testimonials without flinching, and you’ve got them somewhere you can actually find them, you don’t need this. Go do something more fun with your afternoon, and I mean that warmly.

If you wince at the ask, or you know the kind words are in there somewhere but you couldn’t produce one right now if a sales page depended on it, this is squarely for you.

And if something’s broken or it isn’t what I promised, that’s a different conversation. Email me and I’ll make it right.

I have a different question.

About me

Annie P. Ruggles, glancing back over her shoulder with a small knowing smile

Hiya, I’m Annie!

Founder of The Non-Sleazy® Sales Academy. I get in the trenches with the boldly self-employed: brilliant at the work, historically terrible at the asking.

I’m a recovering over-giver, the granddaughter of a used-car salesman with a spotless reputation (he’d be flabbergasted I ended up here), and I have an OCD brain that will happily re-examine one piece of criticism under good lighting at three in the morning for a calendar year.

Here’s my experience with this particular topic. For years I gave and gave and gave, convinced that if I was dazzling enough, my clients would eventually throw money at me unprompted. They did not. I watched people I had sweated and cried over go click buy buttons somewhere else, and I could really only blame myself. I hadn’t asked. I couldn’t receive. I turned all that into martyrdom and debt, and I nearly ran myself out of business more times than I can count.

Testimonials were the smallest, most fixable piece of that whole mess. I had proof I was good at this sitting right there in my inbox, unasked for and unused, while I stood in front of strangers arguing my own case from scratch. Learning to chase the compliment was the first time asking for something ever felt easy, and I have taught it to hundreds of people since.

Now I’ve packed everything I know about it into this toolbox so you can collect proof you’re proud of and stop vouching for yourself alone.

Ready to stop vouching for yourself alone?

Somewhere in your inbox is a client who told you that you changed everything for them. Go get their permission to say so out loud!

You’ll have proof you’re proud of, and a place to keep it. It can be easy, it can be quick, and I will show you exactly how.
